Talent show for teen alto! :]]?!

Question: i really want to perform at my high school talent show next year. It'll be my senior year. I like slow, mellow songs with deep meanings. I'm also an alto. My power-voice is in my lower range.

Also, my best friend recently committed suicide.
I really want a song I can dedicate to him.

I was thinking maybe "i will remember you" by sarah mclachlan.

thanks so much!

I'm confused how this is a question xD

I'm happy that you want to dedicate a song to your friend though, I think it's sweet.
=3 Go for it and have a good time. I bet he'd love it.

i'm soooooo sorry about your friend that must be so hard on you.

some great songs to sing are....
1) the river by bruce springsteen
2) no surprises by radiohead
3) yesterday by the beatles

these are great songs and i hope you like them
once again i'm sorry about your friend.

sing him someones watching over me
HILARy duff
I think that would be a good song!

i think because of you by kelly clarkson or someones watching over me by hillary duff

Broken by Amy Lee and Seether (a duet, but easily sung solo). It is about how they want to be with each other forever, and how they want to take the others' pain away.
Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler. It is about how the person who has died might have been in the background but always held you up, they are the hero.
Like You by Evanescence. It is about the grief for the deceased, and how you long to "Lie cold in the ground like you)".
Sorry about your freind, I hope you're okay, I think it's beautiful how you want to dedicate a song to him.

I'm a teen alto too! And in my search for good songs to sing (not for a talent show, just for fun lol) I have found many by many artists. Regina Spektor has a very wide vocal range, but doesnt use them in all her songs and uses her alto voice most of the time instead. She has alot of mellow songs that are really deep, but also some fun ones too. If you don't want to sing anything by her I suggest you check her out anyway. Sara Bareilles is a new singer I'm sure everyone has heard of by now. She sings "Love song", but there are many other songs by her that are lower, slower, and way more beautiful. I have way more, but this was already getting too long, and I think that any song by either of those artists would be perfect for you
