Check out http://www.strictlyreading.co.uk for the latest information on Reading Festival tickets (and news and rumours)
It has links to several sites selling tickets from official vendors. Ticketmaster or Seetickets are the major players.
I'd go through the links featured on the site mentioned above.
They do sell out quickjly. I suggest downloading and installing Firefox, get the "fasterfox" extension and just try. As to actual chances - same as ANYONE else. Ironically, best advice is to be patient!!!
It all depends - for me, it's very easy to get tickets and therefore chances are always high. Some people are not so lucky.
SO BASICALLY
If you are on the site about an hour before, you should be ok. As above, use Firefox 3 and Fasterfox. Just refresh every few seconds. You could also use the ticket vendors I mentioned and try via there in addition to the official site.
If you don't get them, you can have another opportunity later on (day after, 2 days after, maybe even 3 days after) as people mess up their details and therefore tickets have to be re-sold.
If that fails, head down to a HMV near you. Check with the store first.
If that fails, turn up on Wednesday before the festival and you can buy them on the door.
No worries - the site is indeed an excellent resource. Report It
