no...but try old school. I cant stand much of the new stuff, but I cant help but love all the old 80s rap music. Loved the Fat Boys and also try young mc..he had some great songs.
i cannot convince you to like rap but i can defiantely make you learn how to appreciate it. first of all you need to understand that hip hop and rap is different... rap is word play and takes talent and great vocabulary... hip hop is more of a groove. you need to understand that just because it is an african american singing or pretending to rhymme it is not rap. true rap you can listen to would be Jay z , Nas, Biggie, those 3 in my opinion are tru rappers. Jay z for example has genius lines... and the reason we like or i must say i like rap is because rap is literally an art, a gift... Jay z does not write anything down . he doe not preplan the song.. he listens to the beat, gets in thebooth and starts rapping off the top of his head. and notice that in his songs he is saying things that are geniuosly worded and the delivery is impecable! you must must understand and LISTEN to the words. rap is about words mainly. start off with lets say i would recomend Jay z's album.. the blueprint... it is complex but at the same time easy to follow. Listen to metaphores and similies. listen to what he is saying and how he is saying it... i have been a rap fan for over 10 years now or must say since i was old enough to really grasp the words and phrases. i have a wife for 2 years now and she is more like the rock pop chick and let me tell you just from listen to Jay z and showing her lines here and there and explaining what he says she has learned to appreciate it and she can distinguish a good rapper from a bad rapper now.. and even though she will not admit it because she is very lady like and non guetto she looks forward to hearing the next thing(rap) out of jay z's mouth and becomes ntrigued as to what jay is trying to say... she asks me what it means and i break it down for her... anyway.. i would love for you to grasp the concept and i really really think people need to know that rap is not this black evil thing... i am mexican 23 years old that works at an office doing customer service. with proper english i say that i would like for people to understand and realize what rap is.... i honestly think that people need to realize how good and influencial JAyz can be... you can go and buy and album any jay z albumm tell me the song you are listening too and i can break it down for you and make you realize how great it is... email me at pquezada@itwcip.com .. i would not mind if you would contact me.. have fun fn fun
