well its almost like confusing rock with heavy metal. Heavy metal is well... even a retard could do it. Rock is about those suicidal, crack addicts who kill their pregnant wives and stuff the dead babies into a sock. this is for all of those ppl who criticized hip hop as crap.
Hip-hop(not the whole genre...some of it) is actually pretty good ppl like common, jay-z, talib kweli, lupe fiasco, kanye west, those are poets. But then we have the Soulja boy type rappers that come in and kill it man. Hip Hop fans need to stop listening to that bull**** or just call it crunk music instead of hip hop.

well, to me, hip-hop is all that crap w/ all those ugly dudes doing those stupid dances and looking like squirrels. rap is that **** that people listen to when all they care about is money, sex, drugs, and violence. in general that's all they've turned themselves into, but they might bounce back one day.

Because all rap is hip hop, however there are some hip hop songs that aren't rap. Moreover, since I remember when "Rapper's Delight" came out, and you don't, you can't tell me sh*t.

People get rap and Hip Hop confused because of their ignorance. Hip Hop is a culture, rap is like you rapping to someone. SO we rapping over beats. We rapping to you the haps over beats. plus rhyming. The rap is to let you know the bizness, regardless if you like it or not. So. you wanna rap?
Do what I do try your hardest never to use the term Rap only Rappers even better use MC(Emcee) or Hip Hop. Although it's hard to get out of the habit of saying kick a rap or bust some raps.
