Poser Bands?!

Question: Whats the deal with a bunch of people leeching on to stereotypes they hear of about poser bands, and think it makes them not a poser in the eyes of others if they insult a 'poser' band. Yes, there are many mainstream bands I am not fond of, but I DO make sure to respect other peoples opinions if somebody happens to love that band. It annoys me so much when people will call something a poser band without giving it a second thought, making them even more of one themselves.
Some bands produce amazing tunes and put their personality into them, and are still called poser bands. But most of the people who diss them all the time haven't actually taken the time to listen to them, or give them a chance, just because of these stereotypes.
What do you think?

I agree with you and as much as it pisses me off, theyres really nothing that can be done about it. Ignorance breeds ignorance and I doubt that will ever change.People care too much what others think now days so individuality is something that people get made fun of for having. Its all bull$hit if you ask me,but Im going to continue to listen to music I love without giving a $hit who does or doesnt like it.

People still use the word "poseur?" I thought they stopped doing that somewhere around 2003, and moved on to calling everyone "sell-outs."

its simple you like it or u dont.....u can be a poser band a have a great song or a "catchy one"...I always heard people saying " I really dont like this band...but this song is good..." sooo...meh....u cant be that objective...my opinion though :)

i dont believe in poser bands. this band probably is doing the same amount of work with their own flare. i agree that many sound the same today, but can u blame them if that'a what's popular?

Poseur is a world I would be content to never hear again. There are plenty of poseurs out there, but I think people don't even know the meaning of the word any more.
