well, you can sit down and sing, but you need good posture, and you need to pay attention to how you do it until it's second nature,
what you do is sit or stand tall with no tension, take a deep breath pushing your stomach out and not...i mean NOT move your shoulders, this give the most space for your lungs and gives you a deeper breath, when you sing, control the sound with your abs and stomach, which will in turn control your diaphragm, don't force it in your throat because that creates tension and a squeaky sound. it should feel like an ab workout not a choking spell

ya i'm a singer and i hate it, mainly because you can't sit down and sing

Do the more complete breath, by pushing air down on the diaphragm and sing more from the abdomen rather than just the throat. To do this you must relax your vocal chords and allow the sounds to come out more fully, from diaphragm, through the throat. Your sounds will be more rounded this way and will not be 'squeaky' and weak. There's a tendency to sing at a louder volume, but control it and know when to moderate it, together with the distance of the mike from your mouth.

Always stand when singing difficult songs. Hope this helps!

Take your diaphram out then you will be able to sit down-must be very uncomfortable!

ok that last answer you got was gay. WRONG DIAPHRAM! ok well my choir teacher always told us to stand with good posture and when you sing, put your hand on your stomach (where your diaphram would be) and push out this will give you a better sound. I hope this helps.
