Deathcore is not real death metal, first off.
Deathcore uses death metal vocals and distortion, but essentially sounds like a cheesy hardcore band.
Deathcore features more breakdowns and cheesy lyrics about relationships with added gore just to seem morbid.
Deathcore usually features a bunch of emo/scene kids inspired by their older brothers Death Metal albums.
Death Metal however features no hardcore breakdowns. Their lyrics range from gore and death (obviously) to dark and morbid views on politics, religion or life.
Death Metal takes some inspiration from horror movies and usually had a tounge-in-cheek take on controversial topics.
I prefer Death Metal, because anything -Core in it is just retarded nowadays.
They are not the same...contrary to what the pretentious idiots who answered this question would like to say.
Difference? None. Sounds very average and typical. Not real music at all.
Nothing really. Deathcore is suppose to be more melodic, but both feature heavy guitar, drums, screaming and growling. So theyre pretty much the same, but deathcore has more of a melody, not much though. They both kick ***.

deathcore has alot of vocals that you cant understand, and deathmetal, you can hear it, and feel chills go through your body, plus it has alot of crunch guitar rythems, i like deathmetal.
Death metal is better.
