Who, in your opinion, is the most influential musician of the 20th century, and !

Question: It's hard to answer this really, because you're not just asking for a decade it's the whole century.

And some of the artist's others have listed here do not even count!! Hello, we are now in the 21ST century, no longer the 20th! So Beyonce, I'm sorry does NOT count. And Hannah Montana, I sincerely hope was a joke.

The 20th century would be the years 1901-2000. And how is it even possible to pick ONE artist????

As for opinions.... and being influential... I would pick Elvis Presley. He changed music greatly during his rein from the 1950s to 1977. And his influence continued long after that. Anyone who has lived during the 20th century knows who he is. The same can't be said about Beyonce (Destiny's Child didn't surface until 1998 and Beyonce didn't branch out on her own until long after). No offenses though. She is a great artist.

So it's either Elvis or the Beatles. Who I am not a huge fan of, but you didn't ask who we liked to listen to, just who we thought was influential!

David Bowie, pure genius. Vannilla ice sampled his music.

Stravinsky and you should know why

He may get all this horrible press and for all I know the things he is accused of may be true BUT Michael Jackson is the greatest artist of the 20th century! Hands down!

Hannah Montana.

Pure metal.

Robert Johnson (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938), because he was considered by some to be the "Grandfather of Rock-and-Roll". You can listen to some of his songs and even though they are 70+ years old you can still hear the rhythms of today's music. Nobody else ever influenced more styles of music, and more musicians.

The blues influenced later American and Western popular music, as it became the roots of jazz, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, heavy metal music, hip-hop, and other popular music forms.

Eric Clapton called Johnson "the most important blues musician who ever lived". He was also ranked fifth in Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
