For all the people who say mainstream sucks what do u think is needed to get to !

Question: By next level, do you mean what is needed to get mainstream to the next level or artists to the mainstream?

Oh I get it. It starts at the top. Companies have to stop deciding which groups and styles they think consumers will like based on formula exploitation and allow artists to be more free. They need to look for more variety, Soulja Boy is fine (actually pretty creative I think) as long as he is balanced by all other types of hip-hop. Too much club hip-hop IS a bad thing, but in moderation there is nothing wrong with it. All music has a purpose. Right now it is the same song coming out again and again, relying on a pop beat and a catchy hook.

not rap about the same nonsense everybody else is in the mainstream. but in order to be in the mainstream sometimes you gotta do things like that
thats just my opinion

rapppers need to stop tryin to play for the radios and do what they want to get on that tryin to make it ish befor they got made

soljua boy gone

nas, jigga, dmx back

biggie and 2pac need to stop comin out wit albums afta they death i mean they tha best to eva do it but they lables keep runin they leagacy by droppin albums

we need the role rappers to deliever such as

luda, 50, the game, t.i., cassidy, lupe fiasco, lil wayne, common and kanye artists like that need to drop hot albums

and snap music need to be layed to rest

and no more crappy dances

Artist need to take over their creative control...Like Qwerty said companies need to stop milking the club stuff MAKING/or I guess influencing artist to do CLUB/Dance songs just to get the Company paid...Like they say to much of something is bad...and I think that the lack of balance is giving hip hop a bad look...Its fine that its a business...But for real thats gotten old...The MAN isnt controlling the way hip hop is coming out...We have blacks in charge now who have an idea of what hip hop or how hip hop should remain in some forms...so basically its the company...And for real if the consumers want better product we have to request it.
