I'll be having surgery for a deviated septum. I'm just wondering how bad!

Question: I've always had trouble maintaining my vocal endurance. It seems that no matter how little air I use when singing, I get tired vocally. I've always felt my head voice was a little weak sounding. Does anyone know how the surgery will affect this and if it is the deviated septum(there's also a couple other blockages) that is causing my trouble? Thanks in advance!

the surgica lintervention will improve your breath control while singing - but not for several months. If you have a voice coach/teacher, she/he may have to teach you all over again.
For a week or ten days after surgery you will have pain/extreme discomfort - and possibly bruising on your face.
Hang in there.

Dude, I hear the recovery from that operation is really painful. Made certain you leave with a prescription in your hand.

Good luck.

My daughter had the surgery and drastically improved her breathing. The recovery is painful and uncomfortable (you can't breath out of your nose at all for at least four days). Your singing will probably improve, but your quality of life will definitely be better no matter what.

Good luck!
