Green Day hates Bush (I can't say I disagree 100%...) and is against the war in Iraq.

System (<3) is part of Axis of Justice, a non-profit organization co-founded by Serj Tankian (of System of a Down) and Tom Morello (from the band Rage Against the Machine and the now defunct Audioslave).
Its purpose is to bring together musicians, fans of music, and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice together.

There has been a misconception that Serj Tankian (lead singer and who writes a lot of their music) intends to stay in New Zealand until the Iraq war is over, but as stated in an interview, Tankian has no intention in doing so. Tankian often speaks publicly against violence and injustice in the world (hence why he co-founded Axis).

System has a lot of ... messages... in their songs. Their hit single "Chop Suey!" (hehehehehe, love the name) was taken off the radio because it contained politically sensitive lyrics such as "(I don't think you) trust in my self-righteous suicide." (Note: This was September 11, 2001. A lot of songs were taken off the radio. This is really funny, and although it is off topic, I'm going to tell you anyway. All Rage Against the Machine songs were taken off the radio. hehehehehe. Sad. I like some of their songs.)

Back to topic.
They both have political issues.

Green Day doesn't want to be an "American Idiot".
System I guess is really against war.

System is against teh corporation and americanism... Being that they aren't american, they received alot of flack aftre 9/11...

Green Day hates what Bush did to america... They are environmentalists, and want to instill a free thinking mentality
