Question: I live near Houston and we have a Huge scene with all types of music...I love to listen to the local talent and go to see alot of the cover bands that cover the greats like Dio, Journey(they sound just like them), Iron Madien, Ac/Dc....these and more tribute bands are my favorite...what are yours?

A good local band I like is Glass Intrepiad.
Their from Dallas and Houston.

There are some concerts in Toronto featuring some pretty good rock and metal bands. My friend goes alot but I have never been. Bands like, Dragonlord and Triton.

My favorite local band is one called The Mantras.
I live right near Chicago and there are a lot of great bands coming out of here. My favorite local band is Catastrophe Beneath the Heavens. My friend knows all of the guys in the band; and even for being a bunch of teenagers, they are fantastic! Check them out if you have time:

I live in NY and in my high school every year we do this thing called Battle Of The Bands and most of them are really good and talented. I love my friend's BF band the most.
I am IN a local band in the Dallas, TX area and our music scene is DYING fast. The district that supported the most local music was recently rezoned by the city and shut down. Shame. There's a big scene in Houston? I'll have to book a show down there.....road trip! Any suggestions on where to play?
Around me, in New York, its only pop rock or screamo.
However I am quite a fan of this instrumental band called Chasing Skylines.
i live near chicago and i love chicago hardcore bands as well as punk, i love the music scene around here...the killer and the tossers..<3
I live in a b-o-r-i-n-g suburb of NJ where nothing ever happens.
there might be bands in Princeton, which is about 15 minutes away from where i live, but frankly i really don't care about them.
I live in Phoenx, Az and their is a decent local scene here. Havent really checked it out yet though.
No, because everyone in my area is boring and has no idea what music is called. But if there is a band it will be music i hate, everyone where i live loves only one type of music, no one is different, except me, i broke free a long time ago, to listen to better music. Everyone likes Techno, club, dance, hip/hop, rap and pop. I hate it... Im in a band, with 4 guys we are a heavy metal band, which is really cool, we are the only ones that like heavy metal, everyone just likes the s*** they listen to.
idk about if they do tributes even though i would love to see some bands that do tributes in my area but there are to local bands i love which are kinda on the rise : polar bear club and the hoodies
