Where to send my song lyrics?!

Question: I write songs and I was wondering... where I could send the songs I write to so they could become real songs... I mean
not me sing them like other people sing them?
Get what I mean? I've been looking everywhere
on the net but I don't think I'm looking right.
I know its a dumb thing to ask... =|

Thank you for reading.

Not dumb at all. I have written lyrics for 43 potential songs and have another 12 on the wings.

I have just signed up for free to a publishing site but have not as yet put any money into it.

The best bet is to get a band to use them. You have to meet people who are interested in publishing or whom are writing original material to get it out there.

If you would like, we can also collaborate on a piece. I have been working with a few others, which helps give fresh perspective.

Examples: There's a couple songs I wrote with a 22-year-old armed guard/ex-stripper I worked as a guard with in Washington state - she played bass in her church's band. I never would have written those without her input! I have collaborated with only one other Yahoo!Answers writer so far, though a few are my good links. I also have a twin brother and I spruced up a couple of his good, unfinished ideas.

Hit me back with an E-mail if you're interested.

It's not a dumb question because I see heaps of people posting their lyrics to famous singer. I suppose send it to a celebrity on myspace and you never know they just might do your song.

I'm not sure of specific sites that offer that sort of thing, but I write music around people's lyrics all the time. If you're interested, I can do the same for you (just about any genre) and then you'll have entire songs to market if you'd like. Look me up at www.myspace.com/blacktomorrow.
