The music and lyrics aren't very dirty at all. There are sexual references but they are portrayed very artistically. There is a song about incest called "The Dark I Know Well" and another titled "Touch Me" which is about the sexual temptations teenagers encounter. The show is very sexual but not exactly "dirty". The lyrics are beautiful and very artistic. I don't find it uncomfortable.
Compared to Rent? Its definitely on a higher scale...
