The Beatles are awesome. They only got into a few drugs later on in their career. Their early stuff was fine.
Once they did Seargant Peppers then yes i see what you mean about the drugs affecting their music.
OMG I thought i was the only one! I mean, I know they were a big turning point in music history but their music honestly sucks. I cant listen to any rock or punk or anything out of my boudaries. I listen to smooth jazz and R&B......nothing else.........my mother acts like the Beatles were kings and she took my brother and made him dance with her----SCARY!!!!!!
How about that song "Strawberry Fields Forever" I mean, yeah. They were definetly on acid then.

You think Beatles' songs are scary? Have you listened to all of their songs, or just one album or so. B/c they sing a lot about peace and love. Sometimes, some of their songs have a bit of a psychodelic theme, but not all of their songs are like that. In fact, the majority of their songs are not like that. I think you might just need to listen to some more of their music before you really make up their mind. Try listening to some of their earlier stuff, first. When they were young and first came out, they were kind of a cutesy little boy band. And their songs were a bit more pop rock than anything else. You might like some of that stuff. And then listen to their albums in order, as they get older. Their music gets deeper and has more meaning.
You have a right to your opinion, of course. Not everyone likes the Beatles. But...the fact that there are so many people who do love the Beatles, after all these years, and in so many age groups, around the world...well, maybe it might be worth giving them another look when your ready. Just to see if you can find what so many other people have found to be beautiful about them. You don't want to miss out. I think you'd regret it. They were/are geniuses and they revolutionized music, and, in particular, rock n' roll.
If I may ask, how old are you? I ask b/c I didn't really care for the Beatles myself, until I was in my mid-20's. I heard one of their later songs on the radio and it really spoke to me, and I've been a fan ever since. But it's not something I really had the maturity to appreciate when I was younger. Not saying you're immature. Just pointing out that sometimes it takes a certain state of mind to appreciate things.
i both agree and disagree with you! i dont like the early, "boy-band" beatles, with their clean looks, and cliched love songs. however, their later albums are a whole lot better, although i haven't got to listen to all of them yet.
