With out taking any credit from James Brown. I don't believe he was a king for hip hop, if he was still around he would be in the r&b or pop genre of music. Dont get me wrong I do belive that alot of hip hop artist look up to him and sample his music. The most that a artist of any genre of music should take from James Brown was his showmanship, nobody put on a show and enertained a crowd like him.
Are you serious?!??! No I would not consider JB a Hip Hop pioneer. He is the Godfather of Soul. Yeah he probably has alot of samples for his music but so does Lenny Williams, Rick James and numerous other R&B legends which doesn't make them Hip-Hop pioneers. Sorry.
