I hate John Mayer's cover of Message in a Bottle by the Police.
Umphrey's Mcghee did a cover of YYZ by Rush. I don't really HATE it, but its not near as good as the original!
Avril Lavigne's cover of Enter Sandman & Celine Dions Cover of you shook me all night long sucked ***!!
chop suey, covered by avril lavigne. that was the worst thing i've heard in a long time.
but i do like afi's cover of head like a hole (originally by nine inch nails) and kill hannah's (not hannah montana) cover of rebel yell.
i like the hurt from nine inch nails (original) better than the one from Johnny Cash.
I was surprised when i found out that the original was from Nine inch nails!!

Akon covered a fall out boy. "Take over the breaks over" it was awful
I hate that really crappy of Revolution I think its by Guns and Roses or something. And today I was really annoyed when I heard an American Idol commercial and they covered Dreaming of You by The Coral. It was a great song, but f*cking american idol totally ruined it today.
I hated Limp Bizkits cover of George Michael's faith as well as Celine Dion's Cover of Ac/Dc you Shook Me All Night Long. Madonna's cover of Don McLean American Pie was pretty awful too.

Those freaking target commercials that butcher the Beatles
I heard an acoustic band cover that gnarles barkley song "crazy" or whatever. They played it for like 9 minutes, it was so bad!
BAD:
Lisa Marie Presley's version of "Dirty Laundry," Don Henley's first post-Eagles hit, blows chunks. And I'm being kind.
ANYTHING Michael B*lton has covered.
Ugly Kid Joe's version of "Cat's in the Cradle" would've killed Harry Chapin had he not already passed away. I know it dang near killed me.
GOOD:
Talking Heads' version of "Take Me to the River," the Al Green song. Absolutely jaw-dropping spectacular.
Bonnie Raitt's cover of Del Shannon's biggest hit, "Runaway." That bluesy harmonica and her marvelous slide guitar work turn it into a completely different song.
"Yesterday's Gone" by the Overlanders. Chad & Jeremy's version sounds impotent by comparison.

anyways...you know that band gym class hero's? they covered this song, i forgot what it was called, but it talks about a girlfriend thats the only one that he got or something like that...it was originaly done by some band a few decades ago...the gym class hero's basicaly ruined the song...i forgot the song name and band name of the original...but oh well...
oh yea kelly osbourn did a cover of some Madonna song i forgot that name too...jeeze i'm getting old...anyways, it was sh*t...
There are a lot of covers out there to hate. Who doesn't hate Pat Boone or Priscilla Presley? Who doesn't hate Rod Stewart? Who doesn't hate the assorted teen pop tarts that only cover songs? Who shouldn't hate those cheesy Leonard Cohen covers by new artists for the kids?
But there is one cover I loathe, that I hate from the core of my being and that VH1 loves to play again and again.
Great White's generic copy of Once Bitten Twice Shy.
They took Ian Hunter's song and proceeded to record a near identical copy of it. Good covers aren't just imitations of the original, a good copy takes the old song and makes it new. They don't even bother to "metal" it up. Number of times I've seen Ian Hunter on VH1? zero. Number of times they play that Great White cover? It seems to be on daily sometimes.
