Answers: whats a good way to practice mixing notes with chords?

Well, you’d need to learn a little about music theory. If you have a good natural ear, then it’s a matter of picking out the notes that sound harmonious to the chords. If you don’t have a natural ear or you’re just interested in the math behind the madness, then you can learn about all the different types of scales. Every chord is either a triad or a 7th or 9th note chord which means that the chord is composed of the first, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th note in a scale. Depending on the chord those notes could be sharp or flat. Learn the notes in the chord and it should be fairly simple to synchronize the region of the scales for that chord signature. Once you find the scale, then you can harmonize all day simply by playing the notes in the scale that match the chord.

Bottom line, learn some music theory and you’ll be able to pick up good harmonization very quickly.

Well now,

you start with a beat and you improvise until it sounds good
