How did Alice In Chains choose their name?!

Question: I have never heard anything about that. Fill me in?

Answers: I have never heard anything about that. Fill me in?

You know, neither have I. I remember reading a long time ago that Layne was in a band called Alice n Chainz and when it bombed, he got with Jerry Cantrell and the gang and they switched the z to an s. Layne called the first one a band who "dressed in drag and played speed metal". So who really knows, lol.

You do know about them reuniting and making a new album? With William Du Vall on vocals. But no one can ever replace Layne....

Alice in Chains — A parody of Alice in Wonderland, implying Crossdressing

Sounds like the name was always connected to Layne, as ★☆????☆★? recounted the story exactly how it came to be. The real Alice In Chains passed on the drag part, thankfully. Not that it wouldn't have been funny, but it might have been harder to take their dark music quite as seriously.

While no one can replace Layne, it wouldn't have been such a stretch to have Jerry Cantrell take over the lead vocals full time. Since he did backing vocals already on past albums, it wouldn't have been that hard an adjustment getting used to. Plus, he's a very competent vocalist judging from his solo efforts.

Thanks, Persephone. :)

A masochistic parody of Alice in Wonderland.
