start> computer> c: local disk> program files > itunes> itunes music, click and drag that folder to your desktop. thats how I did it considering i have 18k songs, I clicked and dragged that folder to my external hard drive to play from there.
with my iTunes, you can't even play the songs unless they're already saved into a folder on the computer. Like if u don't already hav the music u can't put it on iTunes or u can't play it.

when you download songs to itunes, it automatically creates an itunes folder on your computer and stores the music there. here's how you get to it:
1. start
2. my music (if you don't have a direct link to 'my music', click on 'my documents')
3. if you clicked on 'my music', you should find many folder labeled with artists' names. scroll down until you see 'itunes'. click on it. (if you opened 'my documents, click on 'my music' and then do the above)
4. click on 'itunes music'
5. ...and there you go.
it should already be saved. once you like, uploaded them. maybe not. i dont notice those things.
