Most definately...... Especially when the son talks about moving away, and what if he fails..... I'm kinda in that spot in life.... I just graduated college and I'm terrified to be on my own and my dad's like "you can always come back"....
Yes, I love that song. Now that my dad has been dead for 8 years, it hits more home now. My daddy did his job but I didn't realize it when he was still alive how good of a job he did :(

I know it's a shame that we dont realize how wonderful our parents are untill we have kids of our own. I am so very thankful that I still have both of my parents here. They are elderly but oh so dear.
Being a single father of 2 teenage daughters this song definitely hits home!!
I think you'd have to really not like your parents or not have children for this song not to touch you. It is a well written song that touches the heart.

got to love those old country songs that hit almost everyone in the home. so unlike the garbage on the radio today....
