It's the same reason why people hate Paris Hilton, Hanna Montanna and many other celebrities like that. MCR is a band that honestly doesn't have much musical talent. Of course, they have some talent otherwise, they wouldn't be able to make songs but their talent is nothing compared to many other "underground" bands. It's only because of Gerard Way's cute face that makes MCR so famous. Most MCR fans are females by the way. Do you understand now? If Gerard Way won a beauty contest, no one would hate Gerard Way. But since MCR gets attention for less talent compared to other bands, people hate them. I hope you understand and regardless of whether you like this answer or not, this is the truth.
