Am I addicted to playing guitar?!
Question: All my friends say so. They always ask me what I do at home and I say I play guitar. They think it's weird that I play guitar so much. I usually play 3-4 hours a day. Am I addicted to playing guitar?

not really. i play up to 8 on a daily basis.
with guitar...there is a difference in an addiction in playing...and a love for playing...yours (and mine) is a love....forget what your friends say...the way you practice...they will be begging for your autograph the next time they see you :)
I used to play that much. But no you are fine. Steve Vai used to play while sitting on the toilet. THATS addicted.
No you believe in perfecting your craft, what is wrong with that. Don't you spend enough time playing video games and doing drugs to suit them.
I played guitar for a couple of hours per day and lifted weights for several hours per day when I was young.
My career as a guitar god and NFL linebacker/pro-bodybuilder did not take off in the way I wished it would have.
But I believe the discipline, striving for perfection and left side brain development helped me to become the fairly successful man I am today.
Plus I still have 2 great hobbies and at 39, chicks still dig it LOL. Actually just one, my wife.
I do that to. You can never work too much, it just shows you're passionate about playing guitar and probably will create music one day. There should be more people like you. Hopefully when I join or form a band one day there will be people as serious as me and you that will dedicate a lot of time.
