How can I write a good country song?!
Question: I'm great on the guitar and have a band. It's kind of hard because I'm 13 and its hard to write from personal experience at my age. Any help will be appreciated thanks.

Just write something that means something to you. Maybe you had a bad day at school, make that into a song. I'm 12 and my great aunt was on her deathbed in a hospital. Her husband leaned over and gently brushed her hair to the side and kissed her forehead. He walked out of the room with tears in his eyes. He's 80 years old and I had never seen him cry. I ended up writing a song about it the next day.
You can write a song about anything in the world. As for writing something about growing up in Tennessee, write was you see, what you do, your friends, dreams and goals. Take this into perspective: the songs you write are your journal. If you think like that, you'll put more heart into your lyrics, and when you preform, they'll really hit home with the audience.

Maybe start to sing songs that are already famous, and then as you go along you will learn and get inspired
Write down everything that comes into mind and make a list.
This called free writing.
Then, find the ones you want to use, and piece them together kind of like making a story with a chorus and verses and a bridge.
This is how I write my music so I dont know if this will help you.
Once you get used to it, you will find your best writing method.

country music is about one thing. honesty. write about whatever you know about normal life, because that's what country music is all about. real people addressing real topics. and even young people have worthwhile things to say. just write about whatever is important to you.
