Serious Question: Did the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame destroy all claims to credi!

Question: That was definitely the clincher, but I think they lost it before. Just based on what artists were making it in, and what artists weren't even being nominated. To me, they lost their credibility when I read about The Moody Blues incident. Go to Wikipedia and read under Criticism just to get a small idea of what I'm talking about.

lol, YES!!!

what credibility? that thing has been a joke from the start

Mama Mia ! Disco Lives !

What little crdibility they had is gone. I can not believe that that media whore is in the RARHOF!

Absolutly, and at the same time, they won't induct ELP or Yes. I know they don't like prog rock so I don't even think Rush made it.

yes they did:(

Come on, nothing says rock n' roll like "Material Girl"

and you can't listen to a classic rock station for 10 minutes without hearing "Papa Don't Preach." I like to bang my head and really rock out every time that one comes on

Madonna is a rock legend.

yes they did

YES!

lol, when i saw the commercials, i was aw, cool comercial, then they got to the nominees, and the first one was madonna, i was like w/e, then it said, " rock and roll hall of fame", then thats when i yelled a big "WTF!!!!"

Yes...and the next to be inducted WHAM!!! HAHA

No they lost it when they inducted Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

YES!!!!!

The museum and the induction ceremony are handled differently.

Part of it is due to Jann Wenner resisting putting certain artists in. Prog rockers and heavy metal aren't in but rap and jazz artists are. Genesis not being in is really weird, Peter Gabriel in particular should've been in years ago. Everyone holds him in high regard as an artist, and he's been eligible just as a solo artist since 2003. Plus they sold millions and were on Atlantic ,so to me it's weird they've been passed over time and time again. Same with Yes.

Dave Clark 5 were eligible in 1989... I think Mike's death says a lot about trying to get people in while they're still alive.

Cohen isn't a rock musician and could've been inducted just based on his songwriting.

Madonna as far as I'm concerned should be in for any number of reasons, a lot of pop stars have been inducted, but there's over 100 that should've been in by now.

I think because the 80s didn't produce that many quality rock bands in comparison to the 60s and 70s, they'll start going back.

I think Iggy singing the Madonna songs and Joan Jett singing Dave Clark 5 was hinting to the Rock Hall to nominate them. Long overdue for the Stooges, Alice Cooper, MC5, and NY Dolls.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is pathetic. It has reached the point where it is an honor not to be in. Just read this partial list of acts not in the Hall:

Alice Cooper
Bad Company
Chicago
Deep Purple
Electric Light Orchestra
The Guess Who
Iron Maiden
Jethro Tull
Kiss
The Moody Blues
Ozzy Osbourne
Rush
Scorpions
Styx
Yes

And Grandmaster Flash is in???

I would most certainly think so. How the heck is SHE Rock and Roll? That would be just as bad as inducting Lil Wayne into there. That is massive fail and it made me die just a little on the inside.
