I know it's more than one year, but '94-'96.
Tupac's All Eyez On Me was and still is the tightest rap album of all-time. That's my opinion anyway. I know there's plenty of people who would beg to differ. Though '96 was also one of the saddest years in hip hop also cuz of the fact that it was the year of Tupac's death.
