Did anybody else watch the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on VH1 !
Question: What were your overall thoughts? I was pleasantly surprised by Iggy and the Stooges' performance of Madonna songs (of all things), but felt that Lou Reed's introduction of Leonard Cohen was too long, too self-indulgent and almost painful to sit through. (I admire both men's music, but Lou Reed is definitely *NOT* a compelling speech-giver in my book.) One more thing about the Stooges by the way- what seems to be the delay in inducting those guys? Iggy Pop has influenced everyone from Nirvana to the Sex Pistols to Guns and Roses, and they released their first album nearly 4 decades ago!

I didn't even know Iggy Pop was being inducted. I might have watched that part . I am a conscientious objector since they had the unmitigated GALL to induct Madonna into the RRHOF . That is just ridiculous!
Edit: I don't get how they choose their inductees. There are landmark, amazing R&R Bands who have not been inducted yet. No Iggy POP? Honestly, but a media whore Pop Star makes the cut? Seriously!!!! What has she done for the music industry? She can not sing, she can not write. Aretha is the Queen of Soul, but did influence a lot of musicians. Madonna influenced DRAG QUEENS.

Why would I wanna do that? The "Rock And Roll" Hall Of Fame is a joke. The place only inducts artists that the communist Jann Wenner personally likes. I used to care who did and didn't get into the RARHOF, but now I could care less. Just like Rolling Stone magazine, it's completely biased and has lost all credibility.
