Question: Madonna in the HOF? What kind of crap is this? She is not Rock and Roll. Why don't they name that piece of crap museum what it really is, the Pop Music hall of fame. Real rock bands are not in there, but this pop drivel is.

Well, a huge part of all the large musical organization (R&R HOF, Grammys, Rolling Stone Magazine)m can't be taken seriously anymore byt serious rockers because they're much too tied with the opinions of the "popular" opinion.
Madonna is very popular of a artist, and Nirvana is a very famous band (which is how Kurt Cobain ended up on the Rolling Stone Top 20 guitarist) so they've been tainted for the sake of popularity.
You can tell if there's something seriously wrrng if Deep Purple, Rush, Yes, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Boston are not in it but Madonna is.
Wow, has the Rock and Roll HOF turned into the Grammy Awards? I guess that just means that some people can't learn to distinguish what true music sounds like these days.
Why do you think most of the bands from the '70s are touring again? It's because the "music" put out today sucks. And why are there several Classic Rock-n-Roll stations on at the same time in any given area, it's because the 60s and 70s produced some of the best rock-n-roll ever produced. You are correct in asking, "What has happened to Rock and Roll."

ALL halls of fame, academies and awards ceremonies are just one big long advertisement for the product.
I ask again: why bother? If rock is the music of rebellion, why does it have a hall of fame?
One thing that makes me smile every day, though: people are fighting over rock in Y/A. Just 5 years ago, it would have been over Britney and N Suck.
it's all about politics even in R&R HOF. if you have the money and connections you'll have what you want. sad, isn't it?
No BOSTON??????? Given Brad Delp's recent untimely death, it would have been appropriate to induct them. That, and their first album hasn't been more than three feet from any musical device I've owned since 1976. I must have listened to that record 10,000 times and I'm STILL not sick of it. It's STILL one of the top selling debut albums of all time.
