What is the name of this Irish folk song-- redone in metal/rock?!

Question: I hear this song all the time at sports bars, sporting events, etc. It is a rallie song. I'm pretty sure it's an old Irish folk tune redone in rock/heavy metal. They played it on the commercial for Barbara Walter's "The Royal Family: Behind the Palace Walls" which aired on March 3rd. The commercial was played during the Oscars. Thank you sooo much... I can't get the tune out of my head!

possible songs:
The Trippers, I Lost My Love, The Stool of Repentance

Ok do you know some of the words? There are lots of groups that cover old Irish songs (usually drinking songs) and this is probably one of them. Pogues and Flogging Molly are two groups. Might start your search there.

can you tell me some of the words or some more info ?
