Umm...

1. Gerald Levert - his amazing tone which he presented so well, it was full of soulful passion

2. Brian McKnight - love his range, 4 octave :)

3. Donny Hathaway - love his soulful quality, no theatrics (just pure emotion) in his delivery

4. Johnny Gill - love his smooth deep tone

5. Luther Vandross - love his tone, techniques (e.g. at the end of "A House is Not A Home") & the emotional delivery of his vocals

Gosh, that was so hard cause I kept going back and forth between Gill & Hollister. I love Dave Hollister's semi cool relaxed tone. *Sigh* I guess this baritone will just have to be an honarable mention.

I know i might not fully answer the question but I just really needed to say something, Chris Brown doesn't have the best vocals out of every R&B male performer. He is just very popular right now and is at the height of his career. He is a great performer, great dancer, but to be competely honest needs to work on his vocals for his next album if he is going to have a next album.

D'Angelo has some great vocals on his CD's he can do major runs, and jumps with his voice so i would say he is my #1

Jaheim my #2 because he has a strong baritone and probably a weak high voice but he finds a great way to use his voice to make great songs.

#3 would have to be trey songz because of the same reason as D'Angelo but he has a weaker voice.

#4 Michael jackson back in the day when he was in his prime years was talented vocally, so i'll give him that.

#5 Chris brown he has vocals that are weak but have great improvement to be better. He just start need to use some more bass in his voice besides his usual high pitch kinda annoying voice.

Luther Vandross
Tyrese
Lyfe Jennings
John Legend
Robin Thicke
