Do you ever get called a poser for dressing normal, but loving the music possibl!

Question: If so share us your stories.

Answers: If so share us your stories.

Yeah, people call me a poser for not dressing everyday with a shirt of a band or like a "metalhead" or sometimes they call me poser just because I don't hang out with people who like rock or metal, but I know more about metal than those "real posers".

HAHAHAHAHAHA. I totally look like a poser until i take my clothes off! I have a lot of tattoos for an average girl but I keep them covered because I hate being judged. I remember calling people that half dress the scene posers. If you think about it EVERYONE is a poser. Except maybe the band playing the music. I would rather be called a poser and listen to the music I like and dress comfortably, than trying to look like a freak or poster child for hot topic. Jobs are limited when you adopt a style like that.

what IS normal these days?

yes

I'm CONFUSED???!!!

Dress NORMAL >> POSER!!!

Dress POSER >> NORMAL(???)

...HUH?!

***EDIT***

OK, now i get it. LOL!!!

Well I dress this way almost everyday in the office

*btw, I'm not Steve Jobs (just making it clear. LOL!!! & I'm way younger and poorer than him)

But I love rock music, and I was never called a poser for such clothing because, they don't even have a CLUE that I listen to rock!!! LOL!!!

...Unless they talked to me about music. =D

I just find it so odd that the image mattered more than the music.

I dress pretty normal (T-Shirt, jeans and hoodie) and sometimes I wear band T-shirts which is when there is a problem. People generally think I'm some stupid poser chick that only wears Pink Floyd T-shirts cause I like the design or something. It's not so much how I dress, it's probably my "image". My school has very deeply embedded cliques, and I never really belonged to any, but I hop between the "cool Asians" (LOL! I soooo don't belong there but my best friend's in it) and the the "full blown nerds" (we all take the same AP classes so we all know each other very well) and neither seem to fit very well with the image of a rocker. I usually only have that problem with my peers, I usually find that most adults don't immediately jump to the conclusion that I'm a "poser" and I can have decent music conversations with my teachers.

One time I was wearing a Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon T-Shirt and this guy started lecturing me about how I wouldn't appreciate the meaning behind Pink Floyd's "great debut album" Dark Side. I had a GREAT time telling him that it was FAR from from their first album! ;0 )

yeah... i don't care about fashion, as long as it's comfortable for me.. ;p

I dress normal, singlet and jeans most of the time, and I have been called a poser and a try hard for listening to melodic death metal and so on..
It's so stupid...
Then again I get called names for dressing in all black too, I'm just not a fan of bright colours in clothing..
