Ya its true. Not that he isn't talented. Just that when you look at the metal community in general there is so much talent out there. From up and comers. To the real old school dudes. Metallica is just really good at pissing people off!
Lars screwed up when he decided to take on Napster....since then Metallica has been paying the price with poor records sales and even crappier music.
Being a long time Metallica fan it has to be said that he is a great drummer but personalitywise he's a pr!ck
He was given total creative control on st. anger and its blatantly obvious with the drumheavy production.

Good drummers? try listening to vinnie colaiuta on Megadeth's The System Has Failed, Gene Hoglan on Death's Individual Thought Patterns, Dave Lombardo on Slayer's Seasons In The Abyss, Dream Theater's John Portnoy, Rush's Neil Peart, Mastodon's Brann Dailor and extreme metal drummers like Derek Roddy, Tim Yeung, Kevin Talley, Reno Kiilerich, Asgeir Mickelson, Flo Mounier, Tony Laureano, Tomas Haake, Marco Minnemann, Nick Barker and George Kollias...
I like his drumming myself too. I don't see anything wrong with it....
As for Metallica, meh....I miss old Metallica, when they'd make me all pumped up with adrenaline. Now they make me wanna kill them just as much as I wanna kill emo kids for screwing over their fans and molesting their music.
