People will say whatever they want. I dislike a majority of rap and hip-hop, simply because of its poor structure and the decay of culture it causes. Not to mention its degrading lyrics towards society. In other words, some of the songs make the US sound pretty stupid. That's what I don't like about it. Plus, some of the artists perpetuate stereotypes.
Now I say this with in mind that you may not like some music such as metal or rock...or whatever. Same problems exist and I agree. Not all music of any genre is good.

i've listened to hip hop before and it is not my thing.
Like this "Hip Hop is terrible".... it's pretty easy actually. I'm not particularly anti- Hip Hop but I understand that many people may not care for it AT ALL. So what?
for the same reason we listen to hip hop and say metal and all that is terrible we dont understnad it what people dont understand they fear and what they fear they do all they can to stay away from it and try to bring as many people away from it as possible
Because it's not music. It's just a bunch of beats thrown together and then people degrade women and glorifies gang warfare in urban environments. No creativity what so ever.
I love Hip-Hop but most of it is garbage so I listen to a select few....

If we all liked the same things life would be boring. I like Hip Hop does not mean I expect everyone to.
It is easy to say something even knowing it is not true.
I never play hip hop music but I do hear it some times. Fact is very little of the music played now is what I would choose.
Yes some of it is terrible and shows just how ignorant some people are.
