Well I've had the Brick Bodega Chronicles sitting next to my computer for months since my cousin lent it to me and to tell you the truth only started playing it a week or so back. To get to the point the other three CDs he lent me are :
OC - Smoke & Mirrors
Guru Jazzmatazz 4
Immortal Technique - Rev. Vol 2
Now I've heard technique over the years and of course that's one of the more lyrically potent albums of the decade but compared with the OC & Guru Joell Ortiz scalps them if he can hold it down and not get suckered in he really does relate to the streets in a way that say Raekwon, Ghost Face or Nas do.
I think that he definitely is one of the best artists to blow up for a while. He also sounds a bit like Big Pun.
How can he "save" hip hop if nobody pays attention to him? No disrespect to him but he's never going to be a huge commercial success.
I think he is the shiiiiiiit...but Hip hop needs no saving/saviors...
