Altan - traditional with a female lead singer who has the most amazing voice ... name escapes me but I think it's Morag someone. Ciaran Tourish is probably considered the leader of the band.
Favourite song - there's a haunting pipe-led melody on their "First Ten Years" album with a weird Gaelic name. (I'll find it shortly - you reminded me to play it and see which one it is)
EDIT: The song is call 'an feocha'n' and it's from the album 'Horse with a Heart'. The singers name is Maireagh or similar I think but I've lost the covers of these two CD's

There is a beautiful Irish song, called Capercaillie, that is sung by the homonymous group.
Being Irish, I have many, but I think my favourite is 'Hearts on Fire' by the Fureys & Davy Arthur. It is a real message song.My favourite Irish singer is Christy Moore
