Sorry--but I can't make out any more words than that. That part mentioned above comes from the chorus. The genre is soft rock. It probably came out in the late nineties or toward the beginning of this decade. It reminds me of an earlier, somewhat softer, version of Nickelback.

well the song is "far away" and its either from 3 doors down or nickleback...i dont remember which
Wildside did a song by that name in either the late 80's or early 90's. It is on the album called Under the Influence.
I'd need more of the lyrics to really help you out but there are a few things it could be:
