Sometimes its the otherway around :(

just do it slow at first, i know its hard but once you break out of that it will be easy and you will be able to kick on the off beats
you should try this beat, it was the first i learned

its the beat from back in black by acdc

your probably a lefty in drumming then. you dont have to have it set up the typical way. just shift your drumset around so that you use your right foot for the hihat and the left for the bassdrum.

Take it one at a time.I did the same thing when I started but it helped if I played the hi hat for a little while then brought in the bass(kick drum). You'll start 2 get the hang of it once u practise and practise. Also play a different sound on the hi hat and the bass drum so they sound different and u won't b following the same thing!! B-D

ok man that sucks
if you got double kick then practice doin drum rolls with your feet while tryiny to hit the high hat
if not then move the bd petal away from the drum a little bit and when you kick the last time leave your foot down this way it wont move

do you have your hi hat on your left side when your sitting at the drums, you should. now do a simple 4 count with the hi hat (closed) using the right hand do the 4 count 1234-1234-1234 on every other beat use the kick drum------2-4-2-4
