I've always thought it meant
to live and love while you're young, you'll have time for regrests later.

I'm too lazy to read the lyrics, but if I remember the lines right it's like:
"I'll take you back to, when you remember how you used to, live your life a little for me"
I think his girl stopped focusing on him, and he's telling her not to ignore him
I think it's an ultimatum like love me or leave.
