very good question, this is a hard one
both legendary lyricsists and had legendary flows among several other things. if Big L was still alive, id say definitly Big L, but AZs put out so many dope CDs and has been doing this for a long time, i gotta go with AZ. Its very possible that later on i change my mind.
You know what, I'm just going to skip this. They both made good music, so in reality, why does it matter?
They were true lyricists.
Both underground New York legends. Their style is not really too similar. I would say I give the nod to Big L because of DITC. AZ hasn't had the publicity of Big L that doesn't mean that he isn't quality unfortunately the fact that Nas had more drive and ambition to get to the top in publicity and status probably overshadows AZ's career a little.
Both are tremendously underrated as artists... personally both are in my top 10... but apparantly I now bear the title Big L Banshee, so I will say L!!!
