I'd have to say the roots are better overall..a lot of JMT's gunplay has been used like 50,000 times..not to mention black thought is just a better MC than vinnie or jus allah
I'll go with the roots. Jedi mind has some tight tight beats but I don't like his voice. And questlove can rock that drumset.

If you've ever seen The Roots live there's no way you can pick against them.
I would first have to declare The Roots a mainstream, not underground hip hop. Jedi Mind Tricks blows, he only raps about killing people and other violent things which he very obviously has not done, or he would be incarcerated. Plus all his beats sound the same.

i would take The Roots, but my husband would take Jedi Mind Tricks. they are both very talented and have many good songs, beats and music all together.
i would ask the other ppl answering if they've even heard jedi mind tricks, because it seems like they are only answering with The Roots because they are more commercial than JMT...
I love them both although I like the Roots just a little bit more than JMT due to one fact... Vinnie Paz of JMT can get very repetitive sometimes. Plus, Vinnie's seems as if he's on a perpetual state of being pissed off. Can get boring after a while.
