"hot to rob" was off of the madd rapper album called "tell em why you madd" which came out in '97. eminem didn't come out "the slim shady lp" on aftermath until '99. so i doubt 50 cent went and found some underground stuff by an unsigned white rapper and decide to copy it
the madd rapper was a character that derick 'd-dot' Angelettie made up to do skits on different artists' albums. the character would basically hate on the artist for being successful while the character was supposudly struggling in the music industry
so "hot to rob" was basically a play on the whole madd rapper character which is why the song appeared on that album. the song was never meant to be a real diss towards anyone
on a side note, jay-z actually did take exception to the song, which why came with the line "i'm about a dollar, what the f#ck is 50 cent" from the song "its hot"
as for "how to rob" vs "flow joe" i would say its hard to compare them, each song has its own appeal. "how to rob" is good for a laugh, and "flow joe" is a song that represents that time (early '90s) in hip hop very well IMO
yes, fat joe is good..but he used to be soooo good (check don cartegna and DITC). How to Rob is pretty funny, back then i thought 50 was ok. ha, that changed pretty quick.
