What is the worst cover you've ever heard of a song?!

Question: I'd have to say My Chemical Romance's cover of Song 2 by Blur. Terrible, terrible band already but on this song the lead singer has like voice cracks and changes his voice to much, its awfull.

Instant Karma- a collection of John Lennon songs sung by today's hit artist. My soul died a little that day, the worst part is that it's being sold in Starbucks.

"Last date" by Pearl Jam. I'm sorry, Pearl Jam is a great band. "Jeremy"-great song. But that was such a horrible cover. It's a '50s bop/tear jerker song. Their version sounds like slow and painful agony... for me.

Mrs. Wing's "Highway to Hell" is the worst. Watch the episode of her singing in South Park.

craig david covering david bowies 'lets dance', well, it was more of a sample than a cover, or once there was a dance version of Pink Floyd's "the wall", was rubbish!

HOWEVER!there are some amazing covers so i am happy to put up with the crap ones to hear the good ones, like Johnny Cash's cover of NIN's 'hurt', that song is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

Smooth criminal - Alien ant farm cover of Michael Jackson

I can't think of too many right now but I love Rock and Roll covered by Miss Britney Spears didn't do the song much justice!

ahmmm hardcore mother fucke.. i dont really know who the singer was but it was a woman who was just yelling that words over and over again in the song for like 9 mins ... my classmate made me listen to it and it was terrible!

Any of Britney Spears' songs she covered.

Oh...Nirvana re-doing the Doors song, The End.

Any band that trys to cover either the following:
"Head Like A Hole" from NIN

"Sweet Child O' Mine" from Guns N Roses

people cover these songs to death and they all suck, they do.

macy gray singing janet jacksons pleasure principle, or marilyn mansons sweet dreams which is by the eurythmics

Hunter - 30 seconds to mars cover of bjork's song.

I like natasha bedingfield, generally, but she really butchered:

this love by maroon 5

...she coud've really done something with it but she just fu*ked it up. LOL.

Gene Simmons doing a cover of The Prodigy's song Firestarter.

The Carpenters doing the Beatles' "Ticket to Ride"

There was this punk group that was horrible (can't even remember the name of them) but they did a cover of a ZZ Top song at ZZ Top concert. (The number one rule that you don't do anyways) Anyhow, they completely butchered the song and when ZZ Top did the same song it was so much better. (plus they were kinda angry that that group did that anyways)

Cradle of Filth's cover of Mr. Crowley by Ozzy...*shudder*

Fall out Boy covering Pantera = Walk

Celine Dion did AC/DC's Shook me all nite long and tortured it:(!

madonna lousin' up 'american pie'...

and whatever it was that guns n roses did to 'live and let die'...

The one that goes down in history is Pat Boone's version of "Tutti Frutti" .
The Little Richard version was classic Rock and Roll .
Pat Boone's version was lifeless and without any feeling .
The radio stations at that time would play the Boone version because they did not cater to black audiences .

'Gold Dust Woman' ~ Hole {orig. Fleetwood Mac}

I managed to sit through 10 seconds of it, but I wanted to scream and rip Courtney Love into little pieces!
