Good Charlotte haters?!
Question: 1. good charlotte have never called themselves punk
2. they have said before many times that they are NOT punk
3. they aren't posers... what would they be posing as
so why do you hate them? i totally understand if you dont like that kind of music or you just arent that into them, but thats no reason to hate them.
saying that you dont like them because of their fans is a bad reason to hate a band. saying that they're overplayed isnt a good reason either, because they have a lot of songs that arent played.
so with that being said, and without using those reasons, why do you hate them? dont get all mad and worked up over this, im just wondering why some people have such a problem with good charlotte when there's nothing wrong with them. and please only serious answers.

i completely agree. i don't really hate them, but i do hold a strong dislike for listening to their music. (dance floor anthem is an exception. i absolutely loathe it, but i can't help but dance to it! X_X)
1. of their songs i've heard, all of them get stuck in my head too easily. (as in if i hear 3 notes of it it'll be stuck in my head for days)
2. they sound like a lot of other bands (at least to me. it could be argued.)
3. their very specific style i just don't like. (other bands that are similar in ways i could love. but their particular mix doesn't work for me.)
but, hey, it's all a matter of opinion.
I don't hate them, they just don't have very many songs that I enjoy listening to.
I love old Good Charlotte! Seriously, The Anthem was MY Anthem for so long it was rediculous. And I was really quite young!
I'm not really a big fan of this... punk/ganster stuff but I've never hated on them.

people hate them because they are a popular band. the same thing happens to kisschasy and the hot lies. i mean i can understand people not liking their music, but to think your weird for liking them is just a bit much. some people just ahte a band for that fact that they are mainstream. like people really really hate the veronica's. why have such hate for a band? just ignore them and move on with your life.
screamy fan girls are annoying. really annoying. i hate how people want to touch rockstars and write proclamations of marriage on their arms, shirts, other parts of their bodies, etc.
personally i can't stand joel madden. but i have a problem with american rockstars. i work in the industry, so i know who they really are.
i don't mind some good charlotte songs, but i just think they're not the most talented band in the world.
Well the reason I don't like Good Charlotte is because they kinda sold out...their old stuff was heaps better than the new stuff (Misery, Dancefloor Anthem, etc). I also can't stand Joel Madden's voice and the fact that they are going out with/having kids with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, two very spoilt, badly behaved bimbos who are famous for doing nothing! But if you like them, it's ok...everyone has different opinions about music...
Music is preferential and you can like what you like.
However saying that, I don't have an ounce or respect for cheesy, poopy manufactured rubbish i hear on the radio nowadays. I'm not talking about Good charlotte though so chill.
To be honest, Good Charlotte kind of annoy me, but I don't hate them! I just don't like listening to them. The reason I don't like them is that i find the songs very shallow. The lyrics are relatively cliched and dull and extremely unispired and uninspiring. He has a good enough voice to front a band but it sounds like all the other emo/rock/punk bands out their. High pitched and winey.
The band sound fine musically but again its all a bit dull and not very exciting.
The music is overproduced. The songs sound so mechanical and clean that it just doesn't suit the style of music they play. It needs to be raw and electric...they should record in analogue.
The worst thing i can think of though is that every song is oh so predictable. I could guess the next lyrics of one of their songs if I was hearing for the first time. i could tell when the chorus, middle 8 etc would kick in or what the drummers about to do. That to me is soooo tiresome.
You shouldn't take my words as an insult nor should you think that I hate them...as I my reserve hatred for boy bands and X factor winners. You can like what you like, it doesn't bother me. If we all liked the same thing the world would be a bit boring!, plus i wouldn't get to join a debate about something with someone I've never met.

i didn't know they were actually that much hated. Sure their music is a little different. But they are a great band. I am proud to have their cd's in my collection lol. Just love their song "the river" (just cause of m shadows and synyster gates)
