Gimme some bands that musically "peaked" with their first release?!

Question: Great debut album and the albums that followed after that were not good

Answers: Great debut album and the albums that followed after that were not good

Korn
Staind(I loved Korn and these guys when they first came out plus I was a kid still, but either way they both suck now)
Full Blown Chaos
Slipknot(yeah IOWA was good but not like this one and Vol 3 sucked)
Mudvayne

My ruin

van halen

Korn
Rage Against the Machine
Staind
STP
Marilyn Manson
Godsmack
Buckcherry
Guns N Roses
Ratt
Tesla

Godsmack
Staind

Disturbed's first album The Sickness was great, Believe was ok, and 10,000 Fists sucked. Only band I can think of off the top of my head since I listen to mostly Thrash Metal and no one mainstream likes Thrash anyway.

uhh, maybe poison the well. with alone in decmber, but they had some good albums after that as well, but that being there best.

I personally think (and you can disagree) that Boston's Boston was their best album ever. After such a strong start, they could never recapture the same magical sound. Their other albums were good, but they just weren't on par with their debut.

Two bands, Guns N' Roses and Boston.

Everything else either band did just spiraled downward from their debut albums.

NP: "Operator (That's Not the Way it Feels)" - Jim Croce

slipknot

i thought all their albums were good so yeah

the classic example of this to me is guns n' roses...appetite for destruction was as good a metal album as has ever been released, and then after that they never did much

it's tempting to pick boston, but they did release good albums after the self-titled debut, just not as good as that one
