Do Americans still hate the Dixie Chicks?!

Question: Their movie 'Shut up and Sing' is on TV right now so it made me curious.... Did you even hate them to begin with and if so why?

I don't know that Americans hate the Chicks. More like they just don't find them relevant in the mainstream of the music business anymore.

They stood for something that was unpopular with a lot of the demographic group that makes up their fan base. I think their devoted fans will stick by them regardless. But as far as the casual fan, they've lost a lot of them...but it's their own doing.

Philosophically, they made no attempt to soften their stance in order to keep those fans. Musically, they've strayed totally from the genre that brought them their fame and fortune. For good or bad, they don't seem to care, and I respect that about them, though I totally disagree with their politics.

I saw them in concert several years ago, and came away completely impressed. They are 3 incredibly talented musicians. I miss them on the radio, but I've moved on.

We all make choices and have opinions in this life. The Chicks have made theirs, and the fans have made theirs.

idk but i love them:))

I never did hate them. I've always loved their music and respect their opinions. It doesn't mean I have to agree with them. It doesn't change the fact that they are quite talented and it won't make me stop listening to their music.

i don't think they are relevant enough these days for people to give a damn, to be honest.

but i always was (and still am) a fan.

i don't hate them but i dont really like them either

I don't like them but don't hate them. I was never a fan really though so what they did doesn't affect my opinion....however I do like the song Cowboy take me away....I think that one is the best one they did.

Considering they only grossed $18 million last year. I would say so.

i don't hate them. i ? them

never liked them, but don't hate them

I never did to begin with. A lot of people were mad because she was on foreign soil, but most of the rest of the world hates us anyway and now they they were thinking we are going into this war and she was just letting them know that she didn't support that. That was 5 years ago, and now the majority hates this war and this President, turns out she was just before her time. As far as their music, I've always loved them. They are very talented as songwriters and musicians.

I used to love them..... Listened to them all the time...... I don't care too much for them now and yes it's because of their statement..... I guess it just shows me their character.... Maybe it's because I have friends fighting and risking their lives for them and they don't even seem to appreciate it..... If you're not proud to be here then leave, but don't make a mockery of us in front of countries that already hate us.....

I don't totally agree with the fact that we are still in the war, but I support the men and women who are letting me sleep safe at night..... And I support my country wrong or right!!!!

I've always loved them. And when some people did hate them they were stupid about it. They went out and bought a lot of their cd's to stomp on them and burn them. The lead singer even came out and told them thank you for buying their cds. If you're going to hate them, why support their record sales? But I bought it because I love them.

i kinda like them ok at first. the band i was in was playing a lot of their stuff then the whole blow up with them running their mouth about country music and southerners and our military realy pis*** me off as i am a southern country redneck guitar player who served in the us marine corp and am very proud of my country and my music and my southern heritage.
dam sure lossed a fan here .....

I didn't, I didn't like what they did, But I still liked them. So know I never hated them

I have loved them from the beginning (hence my screenname) and I am a true fan.. Even my 3yr old daughter loves them and her favorite song is what she calls it. " I am not ready to back down song"!!!!

They are very talented and I will remain a true fan 4 EVER

Their music is good, some songs are awesome. I'm not a huge fan of what they say/stand for, but it doesn't make me not listen to their music.

Don't know if America still hates them but the radio stations in the nearby military town play the Dixie Chicks music again. Personally, I applauded them for their use of free speech. I never cared for GWB when I lived in Texas and am ashamed he's still in office....so is my hubby who was an 82nd Airborne paratrooper. I really thought the death threats and crap towards the Dixie Chicks was over the line. If you're against free speech then maybe YOU should move out of the USA. I come from a family with a long history in the military and they're all strong believers in our Bill of Rights. As I recall, the Dixie Chicks comment was made during a concert in the UK....not exactly people who hate us.

Not this American. They are on my short list of heroes.

Anyone hates them, they aren't really American. They're Republicoids.
