RAP-- the north's swagger vs. the south's swagger?!

Question: Im from Louisiana, so of course I am more attracted to artists like

UGK
Jeezy
Lil Wayne
Fox
Luda
TI

on this forum I hear people talking about
Nas, Jay Z, and other people, who yes, i tilt my hat to, but could NEVER listen to on a regular basis.

People from both sides, give me your prospective on this...and where are you from?

I'm with you to I'm in TX and we just don't feel people like Wu-Tang, Rakim and these other people we don't listen to down here. Sorry I don't know the lifestyle somewhere else and just like they think we whack I think there rap artists is WHACK as HELL. Give me some Z-Ro, Lil KeKe, Slim Thug, Fat Pat, etc ANYDAY. I respect the fact that east coast people love them and listen at that but can some of them respect that the type of music you named is what we know

**YA~YA Bronx,NYC why do you think east music is good? Oh because you are from there and you understand it maybe that's why you think it is good same for us southern people!!!

**I don't listen at that apple bottom jeans Flo rida mess either or superman mess when I say south I mean people who are real and good lyrics to me to like I name Fat Pat, Hawk, Devin the Dude and the list goes on. Yall don't know to much of the people I named because that is not played everywhere in the U.S. That junk on the radio is lame and about snappin your fingers I agree. We don't jam that mess here like that!!!

the north? LMAO..um..BTW..we don't mention them becuase: UGK=average
Jeezy=crap
wayne=average
fox=crap
luda=crap
ti=crap

co-sign wit evil ......... why do people think these same artists named in this question are good?????

lol i see where ur coming from what people dont understand about southern hip hop is that these artist named with the exception of fox and lil wayne arent about lyrics well luda is but to me hes corny but anyway its not about lyrics withthe south its about the truth the reason people like t.i. is because he speaks the turht about growing up in the hoods in ga the reason people like lud is cause they think hes creative UGK they speak for themselves and evil UgK>>>>>ur unknown artists that u love so much

now to be honest ur list of mcs sucks as far as a comparision if u wanted to compete u should've drawn a list like this
outkast
scarface
goodie mob
ludacris
lil brother those are the artist who are giving the north any problems imo t.i. is too but that personal perfernce but jay-z agrees so hey

i love, love, LOVE lil wayne! i respect every aspect of his art. ART--you can't call a lot of rap these days that. most rappers talk about getting "bitches" and how many they have sex with and won't commit to (bay area rapper traxamillion ft. too $hort, "sideshow": holla at traxamillion but don't fall in love and start catchin' feelings...he won't love you back; why would he? but he'll flip you and have a sideshow in your *****), "candy paint" on their cars with gucci interior, and how they bring the "ice age" into the club with all of their diamond pieces. weezy has a way with words...its hard to describe, but when you hear it on one of his tracks, its like, "daaaamn!" also, i love that he stays in touch with the streets (but not so much that he goes and does dumbass **** like t.i.) and leaks his music. i gotta give ja rule props for doing that, too...you can tell that they love what they do because they don't care if they're getting paid for selling their albums. anyways, i think that lil wayne is very clever :)
i really like jay-z, but i like him even more when he raps about things like in "99 problems" and "lost one"...i'm not a big fan of his representation in the "excuse me miss" video...glitz is never a reason to love an artist.
obviously, i love bay area music (hyphy), being from norcal. yukmouth is my personal favorite. mac dre was a great master of words, even if they weren't politically correct. hyphy really is all about the beats (the "slaps" and "knocks"), and that's what i love best. i just wish that the great rappers there would quit feuding--they lost some good ones already (mac dre, johnny ca$h, etc).
anyways...

i think that the quality of the rapper should depend on his art, and not where he comes from. there are some crappy rappers in the south, there are some crappy rappers in the north. you kinda just have feeeeel their words and music...that's how to determine THE BEST.

I love both southern hip-hop and hip-hop in NY, Chi-Town, as well as all others, like west-coast an mid-west(STL)

So I listen to everything. Hell, look at my top 10 favorite rappers:
1-Fat Joe (NY)
2-Joell Ortiz(NY)
3-Chamillionaire(H-TOwn)
4-Nelly(STL)
5-Young Jeezy(ATL)
6-Jim Jones(NY)
7-Hurricane Chris(Louisiana)
8-Baby Boy(Louisiana)
9-Yung Joc(ATL)
10-Gorilla Zoe(ATL)

the south is ok for a certain kinda music. its rare they step out of the box and talk about something other than....damn im tired of repeating this...just never mind whatever the south is wonder-fuggin'-full but personally i like hiphop. and can we stop saying swagger? is that alright? its like bling bling all over again

And true southerners dont like no goody mob and outkast like that.. i mean they alright, but like i said, we do it bigger and better so just get mad if you dont like it. THOSE ARE THE BEST RAPPERS IN THE SOUTH! EVERYBODY ELSE DOWN THERE IS GARBAGE BESIDES DUNGEON FAMILY AND LUDA!

Beezee OutKast is just about the best to come out the south. It really depends on where your from. I m from Philly so I listen to alot of Philly artists but I do like some of the south's music. Scarface, Luda, Outkast and Bun B. So you are really comparing apples to oranges when you compare the two. Like I said it really just depends on where you come from because I have never met a person in Philly who will say the south is better than the north.

Basically the north is more lyrical than the south
(a few exceptions) Southern rappers have better beats
(a few exceptions) and a crunk swagger that the north lacks!!

BALTIMORE and how about none of them..
rap is a waiste of damn time.

new york rappers have and always will run the game. i have yet to see a legion of rappers on the level of biggie, jay z and nas (sh!t, even tupac was born in new york). ugk<jay Z. geto boyz<nas. lil wayne+ludacris+young jeezy<biggie.

edit= A thumbs down? Hate in ya blood!
