I think if you're saying the lyrics are meaningless, then you probably haven't actually heard much real hip hop. Don't judge the whole genre based on the crap you hear on the radio - true hip hop fans hate that stuff too.

not all hip hop is meaningless. rap (50 cent. young buck etc) is meaningless, but even then it still sounds good. listen to a wider variety and youll find what youll like.
It's not our Job to convince you why hip hop is glorious and has substance, if you don't like hip hop that's a personal problem, straight up.
well some hip/hop is meaningless but thats the stuff i don't like.
if you follow hip/hop (like it) there is always songs you can relate 2.
there is always hip/hop songs most can relate 2 there is songs that a few can relate 2.
the meaningless stuff personaly i don't like much but the tune sometimes can get you jumping in a club.

Hip hop has a message behind it which no other genre of music has. I think that maybe you should listen to some real hip hop instead of all the commercial rubbish. Listen to artists such as:
Nas, KRS-One, Common, Lupe Fiasco, AZ, Andre 3000, Saigon, 2pac, Talib Kweli.
