Yes He was in the Beatles And then He was in the Travelling Wilburys
He was a solo artist after the beatles as well but as well after the wilburys broke up he went solo again till his death in 2001
George Harrison was one of the founders of the group the traveling Wilburys

And his first solo album, "All Things Must Pass," came out in 1970, loooooong before the Wilburys.

george started as the 'quarry men with paul mcarteny then they were the beatles then he was solo,he liked to play the ukelele then they ,george,bob dylan,roy orbeson,jeff lynn and my favorite,tom petty'became 'the travelling wilburys..the c.d. that came out awhile ago is way cool....
George Harrison, prior to the Travelling Wilburys, was a solo artist for many years. Before 1970, he was the guitarist for a band from Liverpool called The Beatles--perhaps you've heard of them? He was known as the "silent Beatle". During the '70s and '80s he was also a partner in a company called Handmade Films--they made many of the Monty Python films. He died of cancer in 2001 at age 58.
