for examle- if you discovered the cure for cancer and some evil midical company offerered you a billion dollars to keep it a secret so they could keep making money off cancer treatemts and you decided to publicize your findings even though you wouldn't get a cent, you would be acting for the _greater good_. because you sacrificed your personal proffit to bennefit all those who could be helped your your cancer cure.
