Did I choose the right string gauges for my guitar?!


Question: 11-14-18-28-38-48

im getting my guitar set up with ernie ball power slinky's right now, and it is being set up to E flat/ Eb

my guitar's scale is 25.5

String guage is just a choice of opinion. The guage you have put on your guitar is suitable for just about any style of music. If you are going to play metal you need a lighter top end for the blistering highs that are indicative of the metal genre. I use a very heavy low, heavy medium and a medium high, although I play mostly blues and I want lots of bottom and mid range. It really depends on wat style you are going to play and what your fingers are comfortable with. There is no wrong or right when choosing what guage you use just what you like. lol

i think itll be ok, it might be a bit low though

that should be fine... however, i like the hybrid slinkys 10-48 .. if i were setting mine up for a D tuning i would use the 11's.. it is more personal preference
